Hi,
My name is Betsy....
And I'm a plateaholic.....
Majolica....
Spode...
Ironstone...
Lustreware.....
etc.
etc.
etc.
I feel that the reason there are some empty spaces on a wall.....
is to enable one
to have a place
to hang some of the plates
that are
ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY
to BUY....
but not to eat off of!!!!!
Ya see.....
that's why there was space around my mirror.....
(The firebox was an even blacker hole, and I used PicMonkey to lighten it!!!!! You can now see the wood!!!! How cool is that?????)
I wanted to show you guys a shot of just the mirror, tray and plates.....
BUT I ENDED UP IN THE PICTURE!!!!!
NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!
Not a good way to style the shot.
So I clumsily used the clone gizmo on PicMonkey
and tried to edit me out....
Now, if I hadn't pointed that out to you, would you have noticed that the shelf detail was repeated?????
(and that the blue side of the cabinet was a little weird at the bottom?????)
But I'm not writing this blog to talk about PicMonkey.....
I'm writing to talk about all my plates.....
I didn't like the way there was a blank space under the pole on the window behind the sofa, so
I KNOW!!!!!
I should add some plates!!!!!
Now.......
If you've been reading my blog for any length of time,
by now you would suspect that if I needed more than one of something,
i was going to make it into a collection with a theme!!!!!
YEAH! BABY!!!
So I thought to myself.....
"Hey you!!! Let's collect plates with birds!!!!! Why make it easy on yourself and do majolica leaves or flowers.....
THOSE are easy.
Let's do something more difficult!"
See the big chip,
I love chips!!!!
Things are cheaper with chips!!!!!
I got some with brown rims, and some with blue rims.....
Some with white backgrounds.....,
And some with big white rims...
(Oh, Boy!! more chips!!!)
They all came from ebay.
I again went traveling internationally right from my computer.
Some plates came from England, some from Australia, and some right from the good old US of A.....
I think they work well with the tole trays on the opposite wall, so I felt
i needed another tray!!!!!!
I am not overly fond of the painting on this tray, but it does what I want it to do on the wall and in the space.
Sometimes some of my favorite things are not that pretty, but work really well at their jobs.
Later Gator
