Cabbage Roses and Stuff

Posted on 10:34 by Unknown
What can I say?????
I'm a cabbage rose kinda girl.....
When I moved into my condo, I thought I would go a little more contemporary and sophisticated, and not so heavy on the flowers.....
My friend Greg, (who's a boy) told me that my favorite color, dusty rose, was an old lady look.
As he's a designer, and USED to be my mentor.....
I LISTENED TO HIM!!!!!
If you love something, don't @#$ worry if it is no longer in style.
I am happiest if I am surrounded by cabbage roses.
Just go ahead and call me  ma petite chou....
(that means my little cabbage in French)
(I think)
(it's been ages since I took French and I didn't do so good)
(course, if I could speak English properly, I would speak weller....)
So, I just kept my slipcovered chairs, and made pillows out of the same floral Cowtan & Tout fabric.
I decided that I would make blue the predominant hue on my first floor, using my dining room chandelier as my color inspiration....
Now.....
Blue is a very pretty color.....
BUT....
I am a dusty pink and green girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes I am!!!!!!!!!!!
So, after I write about my living room, with its blue draperies and white slipcovers, I may just decide to throw cabbage rose fabric all around the room.
The good thing about the way it is decorated now.....is that it photographs great, so you guys will probably wonder what the hell I'm going on and on and on about.
Just remember that I like a lot of pattern and color.
Maybe I'm not really a white slipcover kind of woman.
Maybe I'm a
cabbage rose kind of woman!!!!!
But as it is now decorated this way, let me show you some more of the room.
Here is a view from my dining room into the living room.
You can see how I used the blue from one room into the next....
I found a wallpaper that matched the blue exactly with a soft all over pattern that worked as a nice backdrop to some of my COWS!!!
I already had the pair of blue Bristol glass vases (on the top shelves) in my inventory from when I was a big hot shot decorator....
To the left is my collection of hobnail vintage glasses that repeat the color yet again.....
I have a weakness for this stuff.
The color!!!!
The shapes!!!!!
THE BUMPS!!!!!

It was just a happy coincidence that my CABBAGE ROSE fabric had this color blue in it's pattern.
It worked really nicely with the pre-made drapery panels from Restoration Hardware.
That's it for today.
I can probably milk a whole week or two out of this room.
YIPPEE!!!!
